well yes they WERE but now just recently bought by a chinese co. and thats why there were sooo many different problems with the different models since 2000 and thats why ford made a huge jump to 3rd overall in safety because they started to (steal) share volvo technology,,,

Currently yes but about mid 2010 Ford is trying to close a deal with "Geely Automobile" to sell volvo to them.

It was up until the first of April. It's owned by the Chinese Company named Geely now. Time to get rid of my Volvo as I can see what is going to happen!
